  17. GHENT, December 20, 1994 --- FirstClass NV today announces the
  18. availability of the "Find" and "Align" keystones for Tailor 2.0,
  19. the company's visual PostScript editor.  Keystones are dynamically
  20. loadable extensions, providing additional functionality within
  21. Tailor 2.0.
  22.  
  23. The Find keystone
  24. -----------------
  25. The Find keystone provides Tailor with powerful graphical find and
  26. modify functionality.  For example, you can change all lines thinner
  27. than 0.25 points to exactly 0.25 points, or substitute one typeface
  28. for another across the whole document or a selection.
  29.  
  30. The Find panel has the expected Next, Previous, Modify and Modify
  31. All buttons.
  32.  
  33. A first browser offers a list of twenty find criteria for object
  34. attributes such as color, linewidth, font, text or position.  By
  35. specifying a value for one or more criteria, you determine which
  36. objects are to be found.  Most criteria allow to specify multiple
  37. values or a from-to range.

  39. A second browser offers a list of modify actions for object attributes
  40. or geometric transformations.  By specifying a value for one or
  41. more actions, you determine the changes applied to the objects when
  42. you press Modify or Modify All.
  43.  
  44. You can set the Modify All scope to be the complete document, or
  45. limit it to the current page or selection.
  46.  
  47. The Align keystone
  48. ------------------
  49. The Align keystone provides Tailor with comprehensive alignment
  50. tools and functions.
  51.  
  52. Main alignment tools are a background grid and a crosshair.  The
  53. grid's width and height can be specified separately.  The crosshair
  54. can be aligned to any existing object, or its position can be
  55. specified numerically.  The crosshair position can be numerically
  56. displayed relative to any reference position.

  58. Alignment functions include :
  59. 7 snap to grid and/or to crosshair while moving or resizing objects
  60. 7 align or resize objects to grid or crosshair
  61. 7 align or resize objects to each other
  62. 7 distribute objects
  63.  
  64. Alignment operations can be performed on an object's left/bottom,
  65. center or right/top.  For text lines, font metrics (baseline) may
  66. be optionally used instead of the regular bounding rectangle.

  68. Availability
  69. ------------
  70. The Find and Align keystones are available now as MAB's for HP
  71. PA-RISC, Intel and Motorola.  They are compatible with Tailor
  72. version 2.0a or higher.  The keystones are included in the distribution
  73. package for Tailor 2.0d (see below).

  75. The keystones are offered to Tailor Office users as a set for USD
  76. $120.- per user.  Educational users receive 50% discount as usual.
  77.  
  78. Tailor Publishing includes both keystones.  Registered users of
  79. Tailor Publishing may request their free license strings for the
  80. Find & Align keystones from FirstClass NV.  Please specify the
  81. serial number of your Tailor copy (a number in the form of  LNNNNN,
  82. where L is a letter and N is a digit).  If you cannot download the
  83. keystones from the archives (see below), specify your regular mail
  84. address so we can send you a floppy disk.

  86. Floating network licenses
  87. -------------------------
  88. Tailor 2.0d, the latest revision, has floating licenses.  If N is
  89. the number of licensed users, up to N users on the local area network
  90. may simultaneously use Tailor and all licensed keystones, regardless
  91. of the specific system they are working on.

  93. Tailor 2.0d is available now as a MAB for HP PA-RISC, Intel and Motorola.
